"We are drowning in information, while starving for wisdom. The world henceforth will be run by synthesizers, people able to put together the right information at the right time, think critically about it, and make important choices wisely."

Seriously, it kills me when I see people hold scientists up as pinnacles of logic and reason.

Because one time the professor I was interning for got punched in the face by another professor, because mine got the funding, and told the other professor his theory was stupid.

This same professor told me to throw rocks to scare the “stupid fucking crabs” into moving so we could count them properly.

thank you

this is one of the best comments this post has recieved

vegetation in plot 5 was not sampled because bees

My chemistry prof once side-eyed the class and whispered “Everything is made of really small horses”. This is the same guy that had a habit of shattering beakers to awaken peacefully napping students.

He’s bald because he decided to try and bleach his hair with some sort of acid while he was in college. Ended up with 2nd degree burns on his scalp and the permanent inability to grow hair.

He also got tired of grading our finals so he gave everyone 100% for doing them at all.

"That you can win if you want to badly enough” means that the will to win is constant and no amount of punishment, no amount of effort, or no condition is too “tough” to take in order to win. Such an attitude can be developed only if winning is closely tied to the practitioner’s ideals and dreams."
